Humaira Popal, RECE
Preschool Supervisor / Teacher (3 AM and Toddler)
Humaira began her career as a childcare assistant at OCDSB, LINC program 12 years ago. A year later she took the supervisory position at OCISO (Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization) LINC Childcare program where she worked for 11 years. Humaira completed her ECE with Honours in 2007 and continued her professional development by taking psychology courses at the University of Ottawa. Humaira joined Blackburn Hamlet Preschool in August 2013. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with up-to-date CPR and First Aid certificate. Humaira speaks Dari, Pashto and German. She enjoys different sports and outdoor activities with her two daughters.
Preschool Teacher (3 AM and 2 AM)
Kim received a Bachelor of Education Honours Degree from Bath University in 1983, then spent several years teaching Child Development, Art and Home Economics at the high school level in the U.K. in 1990 She moved with her husband to Upstate New York, where their two children were born! There she taught nutrition to low income families and later, worked as the Associate Director at a home for disabled adults. For the last 12 years she has been a Preschool teacher. Kim joined Blackburn Hamlet Preschool 8 years ago with E.C.E equivalence approved by the Ministry of Education.
Kim enjoys cooking, gardening and reading good books. In the years ahead she is hoping to renew her love of horse riding and learn to paint with water colours.
Alison received her Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1993 after completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Carleton University in 1990. She has her E.C.E equivalence approved by the Ministry of Education.
Her four children attended Blackburn Hamlet Preschool and she joined the teaching team in September 2011 as a toddler teacher.
Kelli has over 26 years experience in various positions in the filed of child care, including over ten years experience working in a residential facility for children with emotional and behavioral problems. She worked at St.Christopher's Preschool in Orleans for 4 years and Trillium School Age Program for 14 years in the Kindergarten and School Age Rooms. Immediately prior to joining the BHPS she did supply work through the Ottawa Catholic Childcare Corporation working with Preschool, Kindergarten and School Age Children.
Kelli is registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and has her Child Care Worker Diploma.
